Built on passion. Rooted in family.

Founded in April 2023 by brothers Colin and Jacob, Phillips Craftsmen Company blends a love of the outdoors with a passion for making things. We offer custom woodworking, carpentry, drywall, and leatherwork services to clients in the Kingston area.

In our off hours we canoe, camp, snowshoe, fish, make videos, and create products related to the activities we enjoy; all which are shared here. Thanks so much for visiting our site and we hope you enjoy what you find.

Meet the Founders…

Colin Phillips

Growing up in a small rural town, Colin had the fortune of getting to spend nearly all of his free time outside, developing a love and appreciation for the outdoors, sports (particularly golf, soccer and hockey), competition and fitness.

As he grew older, he found himself wanting to take all the skills he’d learned from the sportsmen, adventurers and carpenters in his own family, and use them to deliver goods and services to his community. After spending nearly 15 years in various trades related jobs, including carpentry, landscaping and drywall taping, he dedicated all his time to creating the foundation for a company that could capitalize on all of his interests, thus creating the concept for Phillips Craftsmen Co. in 2017, and officially becoming Phillips Craftsmen Company Ltd. in 2023.

Outside of work he can usually be found with a golf club, canoe paddle or dumbbell in his hand. Always tackling goals and challenges related to personal growth and development.

Colin’s various roles within Phillips Craftsmen Co. include woodworking and furniture making, custom cabinetry, trim carpentry, and drywall taping and repairs.

 Jacob Phillips

After 10 enjoyable years working in Higher Education, Jacob left his corporate job to spend more time with family and gain more flexibility in pursuing outdoor adventures.

Jacob’s passion is outside and he can be found canoeing, fishing and camping in the summer and snowshoeing, pulling a toboggan, and sleeping in a canvas tent in the winter. A new interest in leatherwork has led him to creating wallets, dog collars, journal covers and a variety of traditional gear for his outdoor adventures.

Jacob’s various roles within Phillips Craftsmen Co. include marketing, photography, video editing, finance, business planning, leatherwork and more.
